John Jumaane Noel
Born on December 18, 1972, in Washington, D.C., John Jumaane Noel was a creative spirit
whose artistry shone through his roles as a father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, musician,
and entrepreneur. His passing on September 13 at 3:01 a.m. echoed his lifelong passion for
sound, rhythm, and his band, Area-301.
John moved with his family to Mitchellville, MD, in 1977, where he put down deep roots in his
hometown. Having built his life there and raised his daughter with love and devotion, John
poured his creativity, vision, and drive into every endeavor and relationship. He never met a
stranger because he saw everyone as a friend. Guided by a philosophy that uplifted the
underdog, he had a rare gift for finding the good in people, places, and situations where others
might not.
Known for his generous heart, boundless kindness, and unwavering optimism, John radiated
love that was as contagious as it was genuine. His actions continue to inspire others to live with
